Toilet Block Saves Chisholm Tavern

The ACT Government is refusing to sell a toilet block to clear space for the development, with Labor Member for Brindabella Joy Buch announcing the news on social media.

Ms Burch tabled a petition in the Assembly brought forward by Shane Carter, objecting the proposed development of a McDonald at the Chisholm Shops.

Driver fined for hitting cyclist

A motorist who swerved and knocked a cyclist off his bike has escaped with a $393 fine.

Dash-cam footage captured a trailer towed by a four-wheel drive hitting the cyclist, as they both turn off Coulter Drive towards William Hovell Drive in October last year.

Swimmers rescued on South Coast

Two swimmers have been rescued by police and a member of the public after getting into trouble on the South Coast.

The men – aged 18 and 19 – entered the water at Bar Beach in Narooma yesterday afternoon, before being swept about 200 metres out to sea.

Canberra’s fourth repatriation flight arrives

Canberra’s fourth repatriation flight since the pandemic begun has touched town in Canberra with more than 150 Australian’s arriving from India.

They will now undergo the mandatory 14 day quarantine period and undergo COVID tests.

The quarantine period will take place at the Pacific Suites Hotel on Northbourne Avenue.
