Fear for the ACT Economy

Almost one in 10 Canberrans are expected to be impacted when the JobKeeper wage subsidy scheme and Jobseeker supplement are wound up at the end of March.

New Treasury statistics showed 16,835 Canberrans still received the JobKeeper wage subsidy, down from 44,459 in the first phase of the payment.

Man arrested after fatal stabbing in Cooma

One man has been killed and another has been injured following a stabbing attack in Cooma this morning.

Police say the men drove to Cooma Hospital for treatment, where one died after suffering stab wounds to his torso. He is yet to be formally identified.

Police seek witnesses to Kambah crash

Five people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Kambah yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Boddington Crescent and Bateman Street just after 10am.

65 reports of dating and romance scams were made in the ACT last year – with almost half a million dollars lost.
