The Orroral Valley bushfire burning south of Canberra remains at an Advice level this morning, as two strike teams from Queensland arrive to support local fire fighting efforts.
The blaze has grown to be 18 and a half thousand hectares in size and is less than 10 kilometres away from Banks and just three kilometres from Tharwa.
Flames are now visible from southern Canberra suburbs, but the ESA says there is currently no threat to homes.
The Rural Fire Service is expecting the Orroral Valley blaze to cross the border into NSW in the coming days, with surrounding areas joining the ACT in a total fire ban today.
